When it comes to the Olsen twins I've always been a bigger fan of Mary-Kate for her grungier, more dishevelled style, but two red carpet appearances later and I may just have been converted to Ashley. In the past week Ashley has perfected the blonde 'Bardot' bedhead look with a center parting, volume at the roots and streaky but NOT tacky golden highlights. I used to think (and teen dramas Gossip Girl and the City definitely confirmed it) that Americans were firm advocates of the heavily styled and polished hairdo- you wouldn't ever see Blair Waldorf with a curl out of place and without a perfectly co-ordinating headband. But it seems that the youth of America is catching on to our mussed up Brit hair- the look Alexa Chung so effortlessly epitomises. Ashley has also successfully reminded me just how good blondes look in blue; whether it's dark indigo with beaded detailing or ruffled satin cerulean, the girl did GOOD!
