Owning an item of designer clothing/jewellery/bag/beauty always gives you a sense of pride and prestige. That feeling is always doubled when that designer item is something that you have lusted after for a long time, idolized in your mind and now FINALLY you have it. It's your own.
Chanel, for me, has always been that idolized design house. Chanel is the symbol of ladylike luxury. The mark of moving decisively out of those awkward teen years, out of the equally immature young adult stage and into the bustling real world of adulthood. Typically lusted after Chanel items include the string of pearls, the chic 'classic' quilted bag (the 2.55 doesn't have the 'CC' clasp) and the elusively unaffordable tweed jacket.
